    Todays news from Blithe and Tad Bays- 2 Pintail, 3 Great Egret, 3 Ruff, 1 Snipe, 1 Curlew, 2 Common Sand, 1 Turnstone, 3 Oystercatcher and a few LRP and Ringed Plover.

    The wader season has started with 9 species seen in the last 2 days, Oystercatchers, Little Ringed Plovers, Ringed Plovers, Lapwings, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Redshank, 1 Greenshank, 2 Green Sandpiper and 14 Common Sandpiper.

    Blithfield Reservoir.

    Morning visit with binos only as I forgot to take my scope, couldn't find the White-fronted Goose but 1 Barnacle Goose, 1 Ross's Goose, 2 Egyptian Geese, 1 Pintail, 1 Gt Egret, 1 Common Sand and Gt spotted Woodie drumming. 38 species in total.

    A total of 14 wader species from Blithe and Tad Bay this afternoon included 6 Oystercatcher, 1 LRP, 4 Ringed Plover, 1 Knot, 3 Sanderling, 17 Dunlin, 4 Snipe, 3 Blackwit, 1 Curlew, 4 Redshank, 3 Greenshank, 4 Common Sand and 1 Turnstone.

    I only did Tad Bay today, 1 Mandarin Duck, a few Oystercatcher, 3 LRP, 1 Dunlin, 10 Blackwit, 1 Curlew and 5 Common Sand.

    This mornings highlights were circa 30 Wigeon, 2 Goosander, 1 Osprey, 1 Grey Plover, 2 Snipe, 4 Curlew, 1 Green Sandpiper, an influx of Meadow Pipit since my last visit and a Wheatear.

    Blithfield Reservoir.

    It doesn't get any better for waders, this mornings visit- 1 LRP, 11 Ringed Plover, 7 Dunlin and 5 Curlew were reported. Best of the rest- Wigeon numbers building up, 2 Goosander, 1 Peregrine, 1 Kingfisher and a Treecreeper.

    Blithfield Reservoir.

    An Osprey was the highlight this morning perched on a post in Tad Bay, otherwise it was quiet, 10 Goosander, 3 juv. LRP, 7 Ringed Plover, 1 Curlew, 1 Redshank, 1 Common Sandpiper and 12 Swift over the causeway. Yesterday 2 Wigeon, 5 Ringed Plover, 4 Dunlin, 2 Curlew, 2 Redshank and 30 Common Tern.

    17 Barnacle Geese still, 2 Ruddy Shelduck now together, 4 Oystercatcher, 2 LRP, 2 Common Sand, 1 Snipe, 7 Redshank. A Little Stint and a Sanderling were reported at the south end I believe, I only do Blithe Bay and Tad Arm generally.

    This mornings visit- 17 Barnacle Geese, 2 Egyptian Geese, 4 LRP, 2 Ringed Plover, 1 Dunlin, 1 Green Sand heard, 5 Common Sand and 1 Yellow-legged Gull. 10/8- 4 Curlew, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Ruddy Shelduck and 1 Osprey. It's been disappointing for wader sightings lately for some reason.

    Besides the Knot also seen were 8 Oystercatcher, 12 LRP, 3 Ringed Plover, 6 Dunlin, 1 Curlew, 1 Redshank, 15 Common Sandpiper and a Yellow-legged Gull. Yesterday 6 Oystercatcher, 10 LRP, 15 Dunlin, 1 Blackwit, 8 Common Sand. 1 Yellow-legged Gull and a Kingfisher.

    The reservoir made a change from Midd Lakes for the last three days of August. 29/8- 9 Barnacle Geese, 4 Egyptian Geese, 16 Goosander, 1 Peregrine, 43 Ringed Plover, 2 Snipe, 4 Curlew, 10 Greenshank, 1 Common Sandpiper, 6 Ruff, 1 Oystercatcher, circa 50 Common Tern and 2 Wheatear. 30/8-...
