    Controversy over the RSPB going to start charging a £5.00 fee for car parking

    Maybe because they wanted to charge a fee for parking on leased land that was originally given so that 'the public could freely enjoy' that land? Maintaining local relations is clearly also an important element to successful conservation - not always about just getting extra money.
