    thanks all, a lot of good info. Doing research now. Had wanted to to go from the Bolivian side (where i used to live) but, yeah, closer to Cuiaba seems better for birding.

    Hi all, I will be doing the Pantanal and wondered if anyone had any advice for going and NOT paying 7k. Any day tours rather than the two week packages? Any help would be great appreciated!! best, Tristan
