    The Dutch version of this has arrived, it looks brilliant but haven’t looked at the text in detail yet (although knowing the authors I’m quietly confident it will be excellent). I know an English version is coming, and French, but not sure when they are expected.

    I think the double photo ID book by Nils van Duivendijk (at least when there is an English version) will be as important as the Collins and Shirihai and Svensson for those interested in bird ID. cheers James

    this book will be head and shoulders above all others, you only have to look at the reputation of the main authors. Yes other gull guys are good, but seeing who the authors are this will undoubtedly be the best book on gulls for some years to come.

    the book is essentially like the others in the series Andy, they have just stepped over from CD to usb for the recordings. For anyone interested in bird sounds, ID or taxonomy the whole series (with the exception of Birding from the Hip - which has great recordings) are some of the most best...
