    Pair of Grey Wagtails at Lambton Bridge this evening. 2 juvenile Leo's heard at lowland site last night, previously thought there was only 1 survivor after the bad weather. Strange sight of a Wood Pigeon using an old Crows nest which had also previously been used by a nesting Leo.

    Adult Leo hunting at lowland site last night. Looks like the weather may have taken its toll on the young birds as I could only find one bird instead of the usual two.

    Weather warning If anyone is planning on travelling via Chester le Street please allow extra time or take an alternative route. Due to the heavy rainfall the drains haven't been able to cope and the roads are badly flooded, especially around the town centre and the A167 riverside roundabout.

    Got my 1st Kingfisher of the year this morning at Sedgeletch. There were 5 Mute Swans at Houghton Gate and a single Grey Wagtail at Lambton Bridge.

    Young Leos heard calling at 8.15 this evening. Adult bird was seen hunting and returning to young with prey last night. John G, the birds have moved into the pine plantation, a lot less disturbance as there's no public access in there. Sounds like there are 2 young birds but couldn't get a fix...

    Had a pleasant walk around Waldridge Fell this morning. Plenty of Whitethroat about and also a newly fledged family of Stonechat, this is the 3rd family this year which is the most that I've seen on the fell. The councils Countryside Rangers were also there promoting the beautiful Durham...

    At least 4 Grey Wagtails at Lambton Bridge today, with the juvenile birds trying to catch flys. The Shelduck at Houghton Gate have successfully bred again with 5 young seen on the water.
