    Little Gull One flew very close to Saltholme Pools hide today and settled in amongst BH Gulls and Terns so got great perspective of the bird. Regularly seen Fox came within 2 metres of me at the dipping pools, looked at me and strolled on !

    Saltholme. Watched the Glossy Ibis for a good half hour at Haverton Hole at about 12.30. Gorgeous colour as it moved. So pleased to have seen it.

    Reservoirs for sale Mmmm, i cant think this is going to be advantageous for local wildlife, the reservoirs are important locally but I cant see any enviromental group having the funds available to buy them ? (Even though there isnt a reserve price it seems.) |:(|

    Just seen a Green Woodpecker fly out of the trees between the Maxwells DIY store and Caterpillar at NW Industrial Estate,Peterlee.It flew over my head ( I was working outside at CAT ) and bobbed up and down North in flight. We are only approx 1000 metres from Castle Eden Dene but still a shock !
