    Yellow Wagtail is full of intergrades e.g. 'Channel Wagtail', which is a mix of flavissima and flava. They're often quite striking and interesting birds.

    Would guess at some element of intergradation with flava in it, which is pretty common.

    Keep a look out for White-billed Divers. They're likely to be in that area in April/May time.

    Well done on the Pied Fly. It'll be an autumn movement. There have been quite large numbers of Pied Flys in eastern Britain over the past week, though mostly further south of us. August is a normal time for them to appear as a migrant.

    Always interesting to read this thread and to see what's turning up 'out there'. Late morning today, just as the wind turned round to the southwest, I had five Siskins in two groups flying purposefully out to sea from Aberdeen. They might be with you soon.
