    Yes, our guide used tapes to attract the sparrow and wren but didn't even mention the rail. Just had a quick look on xeno canto and there doesn't seem to be any recording and I've just read that there is some thought that it doesn't have a call ! That would surprise me for a bird living in dense...

    When we visited the "swamp" a few years ago , I remember thinking that you had virtually zero chance of seeing them even if they were common. The site was massive and any channels in the reeds/sawgrass insignificant. I thought there was some introduced predation problem ?
