    Not so much at Djurdarden as predicted. Nice to see lots of tree sparrows and a pair of goldeneye, lots of goosander and finches. Thanks to all for your helpful advice, off to Malaga tomorrow in search of some more exotic birds! Cliff

    Haj I found the water rail, great close views, also goosander with the many mallard. Lots of Siskin, gold finch etc. very good views of great spotted woodpecker. More herons together than I have ever seen, 36 stood in a line along one reedbed! Thanks for the tip Marie, I'm going to try...

    Bjorn Thanks for the reply, that is very helpful information. I shall also wrap up warm! I was hoping to see lesser spotted woodpecker, tree sparrow and some thrushes, last time I was there i was able to hand feed tits and nuthatch by hand. Kind Regards Cliff

    Hi Does anyone know if the island of Djurgarden is worth birding for a day at this time of year? I'm staying in the city centre for 3 days this coming weekend and from my last visit four months ago Djurgarden seemed the only decent bit of habitat in the city centre? Cliff
