    Little Egrets still on the island today, and female Goldeneye in northeast corner.

    3 Goosander on the lake about 07:30 today - 1 male & 2 female. Oystercatchers in front of the Sailing Club, a solitary Kingfisher very active on the west side. Not a bad place to stop for half an hour on the way to work.

    A solitary Tufted Duck on the lake just before 8 this morning. I haven't spotted the Little Egrets for a couple of weeks, so they've either moved on or I'm not looking in the right places..

    The Little Egrets have a nest (I think I glimpsed young) on the large island, easily visible from the west bank. There is a Herons nest in the same tree which is easier to spot. Its very near the top, and the Egret's nest is a little lower on the right.

    A pair of Oystercatchers were flying round the lake this morning.

    This morning at about 08:00 a flight of 16 cormorants landed after circling the lake for about 5 minutes. They flew off at about 8:25.

    Hi Boggers, that looks like a good morning's exercise. A few weeks ago there were four Little Egrets on the large island in the Lake, on the side closest to the totem pole bridge, and I spotted one on Ipsley pool a couple of weeks ago.

    4 Tufted Ducks by the feeding deck at the eastern end this morning, about 08:00, also a solitary Teal and the female Goosander is still by the sailing club

    A quick tour of the lake about 8 this morning revealed a large flock of Canada Geese (50+) and a pair of Wigeon. They were by the south side of the large island.

    Boggers, Here's one of the hornets nest I took on Friday morning. There wasn't much activity around it, but I was there quite early and it was cold. I haven't seen a Kingy at Ipsley for a coupe of weeks either.

    Visited Ipsley Pool this morning until the heavy rain started. Long-tailed tits in the trees on the path side of the pool, and a Mistle Thrush. No sign of the Kingfisher though.

    A pair of Oystercatchers were proclaiming their presence this morning - very noisy as they flew up and down the lake. Also a pair of Gadwall on the larger island facing east, and an adult & juvenile Heron.

    I managed to get a couple of photos of the (Edited) Black-headed Gulls.

    It's great to see so many with young on the lake. Early this morning there was a juvenile Heron on the eastern edge of the larger island, and the Great Crested Grebes were out feeding their youngsters.
