    They are crackers. Look out for Brown Silver Line and Silver Ground Carpet too at the moment too, both fairly distinctive and easy to flush. Be careful, it's addictive, and unlike local birding much of the time, quite rewarding ! :t:

    The field has held a good numbers of large gulls of various ages over the last 2 weeks, as well as the BHG's. Numbers are now diminishing as the water subsides but on 2 occaisions I have seen Common Gull, unfortunately not had Med Gull.

    The Last 2 years I have picked up Goosander regularly from around 7th December , so given me not usually being able to cover 5 days of the week, we could indeed reasonably expect them to start frequenting anytime soon on a regular basis...will let you know ;)

    Could well be the same bird I had on Ladies Pool on 18th Pam. It hung around for a couple of days. I think the Canada's are commuting between the 2 pools also, have had up to 20 on LP, average around 10 lately. No Goosander yet this winter. :t:

    It is a shockingly bad, tragic ( but unsurprising ) decision to proceed with the cull. I was a bit disappointed Springwatch sat on the fence last night. I'm sure Chris Packham and Lolo Williams ( the credible regular presenters ) are spiting feathers at probably being gagged by Auntie from...
