Can never relate to the problems you guys get with your scopes. Paul.

My standard procedure. Photograph no matter what the light. Use a very cheap tripod with legs at full extension. Go down to 1/24 s or less with up to 5X TC and don't lock up the axis. A bit tongue in cheek and I must stress I've had a few beers but that's what I tended to do with my old...

I used to routinely shoot at around 1/50 and less with my old Canon 450D. Mostly that was because I was always trying out teleconverters or TN's but you do get a feel for the techniques needed for working at those speeds. Obviously higher will always be better though. Paul.

The human eye generally doesn't see any faults in optics, plus the brain is very good at filling in the gaps as it were. A camera will record everything just as it is. Paul.

If I stick a prism and eyepiece on my scope and photograph through it then I can't get photos as good as if took them at prime focus and cropped. That's with various eyepiece/lens combinations. With the SW80ED at prime focus I can crop to 100% if the air is good, the camera resolution or air...

I presume that the shutter fires but the curtains don't move at the right speed. Usually on a fast shutter speed the 1st curtain moves out of the way and then the 2nd curtain moves into position. The first curtain might not be moving away quick enough. When my Canon packed up a few weeks ago I...

You would think that seeing as Olympus have had enough of these coming back for repair now with sticky shutters being the eventual outcome that they would just say return it. In every case I've read about, a new shutter or replacement camera has solved the problem. Paul.

From what I read online it happens on high shutter speeds, like over 1/1000, so it should be fairly easy to reproduce with a variety of lenses. Paul.

Where did you buy the camera and is there any guarantee left on it Tord? If this was a faulty batch of cameras then maybe Olympus will fix it for free anyway. Once you start digging on the internet this seems to be quite a common problem on the EM5 with faulty shutters being to blame. Paul.

I think in prime focus you would be sharper at that range, maybe getting near to what the camera lens only photo was showing. I know my own bank note photos taken through the scope are as good as your camera lens one. I got hold of a friends Pentax PF80ED a few years ago and just compared my...
