    Kingfishers

I wasn't expecting to find one today, given that the Rea was running high and the colour of milky tea! I actually saw it on a small pool a bit further down the path, near the last bench before the footbridge. Also 37 Teal down there, 5 Goosander at Merecroft, with a pair of Shoveler and a...

    Kingfishers

Funnily enough, that's the exact spot I saw one about two weeks ago! It made an odd "tutting" call as it flew off which I must admit I had not heard before. I also saw one the same day on Merecroft Pool - could have been the same one I suppose.

    Kingfishers

I had a Kingfisher at Bartley Reservoir this morning, perched on the fence around the inlet at the southern end. Only the second time I've seen one there. Probably one of this year's young looking for a territory. Also a Green Sandpiper and a Little Grebe there.

No Kingfishers for me but I did hear a Green Woodpecker, plus a couple of Treecreepers singing and at least 4 Grey Wags. Dropped in at Bartley Reservoir afterwards and saw 4...

    Kingfishers

Great that you managed to catch up with the Dipper Rob, I'd pretty much given up on it. Might have a look later. BTW I did see 19 Barnacle Geese at Manor Farm Park this morning. Presumably these are some of the birds that have been around Edgbaston for the last few years, but this the first...

    Kingfishers

Third attempt to find the Dipper this morning and still no luck, also missed the Snipe too! Walked down to the blue metal footbridge where I did see another Kingfisher, but on the way back flushed a Little Egret from the bank which flew high west towards Weoley Castle. My first "local" record so...
