    Took my exercise this evening and walked from Copcut to Salwarpe. Crow, Canada Goose, Tawny Owl. But also had my bat detector. Soprano Pipistrelle, Pippistrelle and one other that I need to identify.

    Saturday afternoon took a walk down to Salwarpe Church. On the Copcut Lane side of the Churchfields Maize Maze field came across a large flock of finches. On closer inspection there were about 60 Chaffinches. I did scan for Brambling but with no luck.

    Yellowhammer female with beak full of grubs in Sinton Lane this morning. Also Brown Hare and broad-bodied Chaser. Lesser & Common Whitethroat. Spotted Flycatcher near gate on Bowling Green Lane.

    No Siskin near Salwarpe Court this morning but I did have blackbird, song thrush, mistle thrush, fieldfare and redwing in the trees by the canal. Thrush city!

    Lunchtime walk down the canal to just beyond Porters Mill. 2 Cuckoos heard, one on either side of the canal. Lots of Reed Warblers. Whitethroat, Swallows and Swifts. 2 Grass Snakes seen swimming the canal.

    1 House Martin over the house but amazingly I do believe i've just had a Woodcock fly fast and low south towards Copcut Lane, shrieking as it went. Quite a sight.

    First walk around the Salwarpe Church/Coney Meadow area since moving here. Plenty of Chiffchaff singing and at least 3 Green Woodpeckers. Goldcrest in churchyard and 2 Nuthatches. Thought churchyard looked possible for Spotted Flycatchers later in the spring, but reading this thread seems...
