Don't know if you have the bird, or are able to get it and send to http://pbms.ceh.ac.uk/ One area they cover is the amount of rodenticide in such raptors.

Do you know if the work on the towpath has finished now, by the little car park at the end of Egg Lane, and is the car park surface ok - crater-wise! We came over a couple of weeks ago to find everywhere blocked off - nothing on their website about the works|=(|

Shocking news, they must have such sad lives with nothing better to live for. Can't imagine why they go so far out of the town. Maybe the same ones who started the fire previously. Had there been signs of the box being in use?

We risked taking the car along the fisherman's track to Gwen Finch last week (won't do it again!), and heard both male & female cuckoos there, where they are usually reliable. Some of the land is up for sale, though.

I have been really envious of your cuckoos, we've not heard one here for 2 years now!

After the last episode you told us about, I got in touch, and was told that someone from the appropriate 'team' would contact me. Needless to say, they didn't. At that time I said we were thinking about cancelling our membership ( we joined solely to support the conservation aspect). I've just...

Maybe the boating people should take it in turns to steer, while the others walk on the towpath and enjoy the view! They'd keep a lot fitter.

I'm rather confused by just who is responsible for this work. The address on the fb page gives the Droitwich Canal Trust, who have done the work, but seem to be separate from the CRT. I wonder just which organisation is in charge here.

Have mailed them, as we are members soley to support their wildlife work, so need to know that's what they use the subs for!

Does anyone know if the cattle are usually able to access the public footpath that goes from by the lock at Egg Lane down to the little bridge over the Salwarpe? We wondered if they were there temporarily to graze off this years plant growth.

It's great to read the glow-worms are increasing. Is their habitat there fairly safe? Or at least, as safe as anywhere is these days!

That's interesting- there's a definite trend to earlier arrivals. Some must be struggling this year with lack of insects.
