I suppose i could always stay 2 days at Petra. i have not booked any hotel yet. By the way what gift would you get a Jordanian birding pal member who will accompany me for at least a day on visits? I will only have access to supermarkets tomorrow so any ideas? -

There is a birder from Jordan that is available on Saturday Sunday so I can meet him. That is why I want ot visit Aqaba on weekend. How much of Petra can be seen in a full day? i want to see as much of it as possible. I would prob get there 10am-11am at latest. I am not a very good birder... -

Thanks all for your very valuable input! I have made a brief travel plan.....what do you think? So If I set off from Amman on Friday morning to Petra and stop there for a few hour and then on to Aqba...for the night. Saturday I spend around Aqaba. Sunday i can head north. Then Sunday... -

I might just have to hire a car. If I do that and I visit Petra...Friday I stay in Amman....Saturday I set off to Petra and elsewhere......and be back Thursday morning...how should I plan my trip..... -

How many hours is Petra from Amman by bus and how long would I need to sped there minimum? Is Wadi Rum close to Petra, there must be hotels there? I may not necessarily stay in Amman for all my 6 days. I do want to do some local sight seeing so not just a birding holiday. Any species... -
