    Spent the morning at Grimley today and saw 44 species overall, with highlights being a male Pintail on Wagon Wheel Lane Flash and a drake Smew on Wagon Wheel Lane Pits which took flight several times and finally left. Chris

    Cattle Egret seen in cattle field at Wagon Wheel Pits at 1pm this afternoon then flew into a distant tree behind the lefthand pool. Only brief views as the rain was still coming down. Chris

    I went down around 1pm this afternoon, unfortunately though I didn't see any Smew. However after i photographed some of the Goldeneye I noticed this bird in the background. Is this one of Smews? Chris
