    Hi Rich The Tern was sporting a yellow ring with black code LJJ. It was ringed in Finland in June 2019 and has been seen in recent weeks in both Wales and Yorkshire. Sadly no sign today.

    What I suggested was it was worth putting all the information for the reserve in one place and then flag rarities in each individual county as and when they occur (and that if it was combined that it shouldnt rest on the West Mids threads at all the very reason you stated above).

    In addition to the WRS the North Pit held 3 Little Egret, 3 Dunlin and 1+ Green Sand. I also heard a report of a Golden Plover over. Was impressed by the numbers of Gadwall and Wigeon on the reserve overall.

    And abandon their favourite home at Upton Warren? Never! In all seriousness the Flashes can only hold a finite number of Avocet pairs so it will be interesting to see where any "overspill" appears in the West Mids.
