    Took a shufty down to the reserve this afternoon. Highlights were, 3 Redshank in amongst the working diggers. 4 Shelduck, 5 Little Egrets - 3 of them by Fishers Mill Bridge. 30 Fieldfare in the Oak at the top end of the North Pit together with a small flock of Linnets. 6 Meadow Pipits over by...

    From Fishers Mill bridge up to North Pit this afternoon, 3 Little Egret. On North Pit, pair of Goosander, 3 Shelduck and a Green Sandpiper. Still a lot of water in pools and in the River Tame. Pumps working on the second pool from Fishers Mill but not at the pool where the WRS was. Brian J

    2 Little Egret, 2 Cuckoo from the copse in the wheat field to right of track from Fishers Mill. Flew to large oak on the track and then to Middleton Hall copse. One calling, flying as a pair assumed the the other bird may be a female. 2 pairs of Linnet, Lesser Whitethroat in Willows by river...

    Spent some 15 mins scanning the North Pit at 9 this morning to no avail. Met another birder from Nuneaton who also drew a blank. Your comment is perhaps correct John. Did see a Cuckoo in a large Oak? between the farmhouse and the Silt Pool that then flew off south. Brian J
