    Just to make people aware, someone on Twitter has said they think they heard a marsh warbler at Middleton yesterday. "Many thanks. I will check it out.     Just looked on the Facebook page for Middleton Lakes, and there is a picture of the mythical lesser spotted woodpecker on a peanut feeder. Several pics in fact from late August through to mid September. On the blog it is mentioned into October. Would the feeder in question be in Staffs or not...

    Redshank on the north pit today as well, and then possibly the same bird on the very south pit later. Also had a fly over peregrine and a common tern on the north pit. Plenty of singing linnets and a lesser whitethroat as well. Plenty of flowers out at the reserve; red campion, ox-eye daisy...
