    Sightings today include a cuckoo calling from one of the trees along the bridleway, water rail in the silt pool reedbed, a redshank and a LRP on the wetlands and a buzzard, being mobbed by a raven, being mobbed by 2 jackdaws over the heronry.

    Very quick walk around the site. Kestrel hunting over the car park. Jay on the feeders. Meadow pipit at the North. Speckled wood, brimstone, peacock, comma, common blue around Wetlands. David

    Please be aware that yesterdays rain has lead to some areas of flooding on site. The areas most affected are Canal Meadow and the path to the Lookout. The water level is slowly going down and as long as you walk slowly, wellies are sufficient. The rain has brought some nice birds down...
