    A tidy 2 hours birding this morning saw me "trouser" the Long-tailed Duck at Lea Marston (no sign of the Scaup but male Goosander over), the Whooper Swan with 8 Mutes at Bodymoor Heath and the Firecrest at Hams Hall (along the river 200 metres east of Edison Road bridge, by the lost dog poster).

    Still there at 3:20pm and showing well close to the shore in the SE corner. Also at least 8 Goosander; seemed to be coming into roost. Most Tufted and Pochard were on the body of water to the east of the res. Impressive numbers of GC Grebe; does anyone undertakr regular counts at this site?

    Has anyone got an update on this bird; the report hit the pager at 1:47pm but there was no time for the sighting. Edit: RBA report no sign between 3:00pm and dusk
