    colliery woods abit breezy this afternoon. lots of whites and afew small coppers also a pair of mute swans on the pond feeding. both unrung

    loads of orange tips about west pastures along with peacocks, large and small whites, green vein, sm torts and 1 comma at the bog pond and a large toad :)

    saw 1 small buff coloured moth flitting about colliery woods just as it got dark, to dark to see it properly, is it worth trying the moth trap i wonder ? martin

    west pastures today. 1 red admiral 1 speckled wood

    still hundreds of specled woods about in the colliery woods, not much else. fleeting glimpse of something small blue and washed out looking before it disappeared in brambles. testos tomorrow.

    colliery woods this afternoon. loads of specled wood, meadow brown, red admirals, 1 common blue, peacocks,and one i cant id . still lots of flowers in bloom.

    turned the bathroom into a moth trap last night. placed the mercury vapour lamp on the window sill andd left the window open and door shut ( most the time ) i think 3 a gold spot.

    Lots of Seckled Woods about at testos and the cattle bridge beside it. is it a good time of year for them Martin ?

    west pastures, last couple of days has had loads of small tortois that appear to be mating. plenty peacocks to.

    testos about mid-day quiet on the bird front but busy otherwise. try the moth trap in the back garden tonight

    spent friday night owl watching so tried the uv lamp out there in a make shift trap. got loads of dotted clay but not much else. loads going in then back out.

    trap out last night / this morning nothing new but had 2 male light-brown apple moths.

    walked along the track beside the sub-station opp. testos pond. 10 yards in a male banded demoiselle, loads of whites, coppers,red admiral and peacocks. west pastures was poor only saw afew small coppers and large and small whites. plenty 5 spot ladybirds on the thistles. another one i cant id

    thank you, thats still only 17 different species from my garden. colliery woods, testos or old wood at w-pastures is bound to be better just need something more portable.

    thankyou, 2 were both smaller than the large y underwing i didnt take a pic of as they were bouncing off the kitchen window. thats 3 new ones for my back garden anyway :)

    moth trap out last night in the back garden, tipped some mango juice out to see if i could tempt more. large y underwing love it so wont do that again.

    hi martin, ok iv looked at my chart to see what they look like il look out for them il look at the main road side theres more lift out of the grasses and reeds there.
