    Been a good year for butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies. Seen 27 speices of butterfly 17 species of Dragonfly and Damselfly. Also it's been interesting running the moth trap this year added a few more species for the garden.Cannot wait to start mothing again next spring.

    Hi you do get a few species of moths on the wing during winter.But i would wait for a mild night to try the moth trap out.

    Testo's Pool this afternoon still a few Common Darters around a single BT Damselfly also 5 Migrant Hawkers and a male Southern Hawker.Not many butterflies seen a part from 11Speckled Woods.Back in the garden 5 Red Admirals,3 Small Torts and a Speckled Wood.

    Hi Steve the moths are called Silver Y.It's a migrant and some years we get huge numbers of them coming in from the Mediterranean and North Africa.I saw a few in the spring and there seems to be a good number of them around at he moment.

    Hi Adam it's been another good year for them.The one in your pic looks very fresh must have just recently come out.I have certainly seen more of them than usual in the garden.
