    Mystery Moth Can anyone identify this moth I found near Roker Park on 2.7.11 while I was at work,It was about 5 and a bit inches long and clearly not British,I cannot find it anywhere on the Net,Thanks ..................Laurence :)

    Just came back from Zakynthos,great place to see Hummingbird Hawkmoths,got some canny pics and a little video,they were all over!!!

    A walk along to Old Marsden Quarry this morning produced a Few Red Admirals,Speckled woods and a single White.............Laurence :)

    I have noticed on my patch(Marsden area,Shields) a marked drop in Butterfly numbers from last year,never seen a Painted lady this year,the most common are the Small Torts at the moment,with only a few Peacock and not many Red Admirals either.I thought with the better weather than last year there...
