    Trap last night included Flounced rustic, Willow beauty, LY underwing, Garden carpet, Gold spot, Silver Y Plus those below Brown-spot Pinion Frosted orange August thorn Small square spot Rosy rustic.

    What a difference a few miles can make. Around where I live there has been good numbers of large and small skippers, small tortoiseshell, peacock, meadow brown, small heath, ringlet, speckled wood, (now) red admirals, whites. Definitely down are common blue (only seen a handful), small coppers...

    A quick mooch around the garden produced these (+ a small square-spot). The colour of the small tortoiseshell pupa is stunning (dulls with age apparently so this must be faily recent) White-spotted pug Eupithecia tripunctaria Twenty-plume moth Alucita hexadactyla (On our honeysuckle) Platyptilia...

Species from the trap included ;- Large, lesser and least underwings Cloaked minor Flame carpet Flounced, common, heath, square-spot, mottled and six-striped rustics Shuttle-shaped dart Dark arches The chevron Epiblema cynosbatella...

    Trap was out for a couple of hours only in the garden last night. Loads of LYU with little else of note worth a photo other than Common Rustic agg. and a single Least Yellow Underwing. Looks like the Buff ermine have taken a liking to our garden again - last year I relocated 100's of the things...

    Thanks to Tom for pointing out my error with Shuttle-shaped dart ssp. insula - it is simply Shuttle-shaped Dart Agrotis puta It was a dead ringer for the photo on UK Moths though :)

    A visit to a moorland site proved less than great last night with conditions less than ideal. Not sure what scuzz pulled into his trap but mine was disappointing to say the least. Highlights being: Dark arches, Dark marbled carpet, Ingrailed Clay, Neglected rustic, Heath rustic
