Thanks a lot Delia! Filming a bird has been an absolute asset, when sketching is well nigh impossible. You can break down what you have seen, and turn the bird through its dimensions later. Upload the YouTube video to the Gallery? I'll have to work that one out! Good to be back.

MAGNOLIA WARBLER W.I.P. #3 This bird was difficult to work out as it flitted from deep cover into deeper cover. But filming it, and studying grabs of the footage, allowed me to break it down into how it's actually put together. Luckily a few hours of observation at very close range, with only...

Untitled Is Unfinished! MAGNOLIA WARBLER W.I.P. #1 Well well. Hello again. It's been a hectic and not always agreeable 11 years since I last posted on this thread. Since that time all sorts of curved balls have been thrown in my direction. So, the ability to keep this thread going drifted...

Not much to show for the past months. Though lots of ideas! ;) Anyhoo! Most of my creative input has been put into editing and producing short films we did during 2010/11. So I post this as a Xmas card to you all. http://vimeo.com/33831040 Other "cards" can be found here...

Alan, It's all here. http://www.thegreatcraneproject.org.uk/ The birds' needs are catered for with disused crops nearby for hard times. The birds routinely visit these "special sites.";) The key is that they have no need to migrate. And that a new population is seeded from these young birds...

Day 2: 34 Had a bit of time today. After adding a blue-white skywash, it's back to re-defining the flock with grey water-colour pencil. (You can see the un-defined ones in the lower right quarter...) Learning Crane-shapes, and planning. When this is done in rough, the sky will re-appear as a...

Wow! It's been hard keeping up here. Much busier than it used to be!:eek!: A Bird Report deadline has finally forced me to produce something, after a long abstinence. I'll just slip these neatly onto the front page. Hope I don't slip off too soon!:-O All these are greyscale, but I had to do one...

Sorry for the late reply Russ. Am finding it difficult to keep up here now! It was easier in 2010. But more people=more art! And that can only be a great thing! Let us not consign it to the History Books. Let's take it away from the "photographers!" Keep up the brilliant work my friend!:t:
