    Bird watching dalyan Turkey

Thanks. I don't usually head out that way, but I do always have a car, so wouldn't be a problem to get there... I may well give it a go next time I'm out, which unfortunately, isn't until next June!!

Hi Foxy, I've been holiday/birdwatching at Dalyan for a while, and not sure I've heard of Calis Beach Marsh - could you let me know where it is... Thanks... Ray

Squacco, but interesting about the Gargeney.... Can't say that I have ever seen/paid attention to the underwing pattern of this species, but just scanning random images on the internet, the very obvious dark bar on the front of the wing doesn't seem to show up all of the time - sometimes there...

Nice pics Rob.... Interesting that you should say about Shrikes on passage.... Our usual time to visit is last week in May, so reasonable numbers breeding at that time, and did see quite a few on our one and only autumn visit at end of Oct, but we would have missed both main passage times...

Stop it Alan - I'm already feeling 'homesick' as it is!!!;) The mists eventually parted btw re: the GPS discepency.... It's because the co-ordinates on google only show degrees, rather than degs, mins and secs... so 38-40 = 38.66 for example!! Doh.

Sounds like the same place alright - we just approached from opposite ends.... I do remember a while back, a chap posting on here that he had been arrested and held for quite a few hours after birdwatching nr Dalaman airport... Not sure that it would have been exactly this area, but of course...

    Bird watching dalyan Turkey

Sounds like a great day.... I wouldn't mind some more info on this area.... If it's where I think it is, we drove around it on our last trip out, but got there via a side road off the main road to Iztuzu - just as you start to climb up and over the hill, with a sign advertising (I think!)...

    Bird watching dalyan Turkey

Hi All, I did a few little walks out :- The walk opposite the school (nr Ley Ley) was good.... there were Rollers around at the alloted spot, but also Kestrels nesting which was creating a certain amount of tension! I didn't want to hang around and add to the problems, so didn't get any...

    Bird watching dalyan Turkey

Hi, Very useful web-site - thanks for putting it together for us Turkey lovers! Talking of which..... I am heading out to Dalyan on Friday and wondered if you had any info on a species that has previously proved a bit elusive.... I refer to Rupell's Warbler, which would be a lifer for me, so...
