Yes Tom, glad to see the article. It has a special interest for Dalian, but some of us might use it further afield :king: If it's okay I'd love a copy to pass around to students, with your name and any other relevant info...

Exciting to think of capturing a raccoon dog on your trap! Hope that works out. That owl pellet is too big to be from one of your many Little Owls, right? Congrats too on the many-grebe day!

Hey Tom, meant to comment on how much fun it was reading your trip report - sounds like all went quite well in the end.

Love the picture of the flock of yellow-throated buntings at the water. Were they catching insects or all bathing? Fun to see so many together.

Thanks for recordings - I needed a reminder about what the Palla's sound like - I've been hearing some warblers but need to figure out which I've been hearing. I forgot what the Brown-eared Bulbuls sound like - but I don't think I'll be finding any hear anyway :-(

Great when holiday (weekend) and migration come together so well! Wonderful to hear about and see even just a bit of your sightings. Hope you've been busy seeing more!

Will you or class write something about it? Hoping so!

Nice woodpecker! You don't see these rufous-bellied too often do you? Are they just migrating through or breed there? (I still haven't seen one yet.) Thanks for lots of nice pics.

That is a great spot for seeing the birds come past! Sounds like a great day. By the way, what was the documentary your class watched?

Love the shot of the black tail on the BT Godwit - now it's easy to see how it got the name!

Yes! And the pair of buzzards. Very handsome cormorants and mergansers as well.

Meant to comment earlier on your flocks - enjoyed both the shelducks and egrets. Were the egrets in stopover mode - interesting to see the group in a pretty dry looking area (or were they hunting insects?). They also look a bit focused on something.

Tom, I meant to say when I saw this last post: I always love to see your Little Owl(s)- but they tempt me to envy too! Perched out in the open so clearly....

Nice flight photos. Especially like the one of the Hill pigeons - shows some handsome markings. Glad that your ankle doesn't seem to be slowing you down too much.

Nice set of pictures! I am working on identifying a local falcon, and enjoy looking at your pics and comparing them with what I've seen. I think it's great to have caught a red squirrel on your camera trap - they are just harder to see here than other parts of the world. Hope you find some...

Love the pictures of the Yellow-rumped Flycatchers! By "first year" you mean the Narcissus was born this year? Glad you're managing to get out into this great migration. We'll enjoy the reports when you get to them.

How wonderful to see such large numbers of bluetails! I guess this has been more than usual numbers? Perhaps a good breeding year last year.... They do remind me of bluebirds in NA. Very handsome male in #1040.

And I enjoyed seeing the flock of brambling in the grass - I haven't seen a group like that.

Wish I could say I was as good as your daughter at spotting birds. I can't see the kingfisher among the herons - which quadrant is it in?
