Whilst on the subject good to see you again Mark. Not much seen after you left, except of course Laurie. I'm sure things will pick up soon. Focus on those Gulls. A Med will sneak in sometime. Cheers Hughie.

Hi Laurie. Reciprocations to yourself. Nice to have met you yesterday despite it being so quiet. All the more reason for admiring Marks perseverance when this New Year has been so static. As the lottery cliche states " you have to be in it to win it ". As we discussed, patch working can be...

Nice one Mark. Your persistence finally paid off. We also discussed the previous days Bonapartes Gull at Marsh Lane. Cat in hells chance of that with not even a single Black headed Gull on site. Being less ambitious it's about time another Whinchat turned up. Best of luck. Cheers Hughie.

Hi Mark Nice to see you today. Never did come across the talked about fly by Gannet or Skua. Simon was the lucky one today at Fens Pools. You've covered pretty much everything. Only addition was a male Gt Spotted Woodpecker near the garages on the way back. Usually one or a pair in that area...

Hi Mark. Good to see the reports from Sheepwash. I'm sure Kevin Clements would be interested in Yam Yams L S Woodpecker along with other Sheepwash birders. A scarce bird anywhere now, especially West Mids county, I agree with your comment, it would be good to know the location it was seen in...

Hi Mark. Good to see the updates on Sheepwash. Also good to see the Rising Sun back on track. Pity the Port & Ale has gone downhill for real ales. Beer and birds, the ultimate in hobbies. There is a real ale guide to football grounds. Need a real ale guide to nature reserves. Cheers Hughie.

Following on from our discussion after you found the Eider, Mark. If it had been an escape surely it would not have gone far and would have turned up somewhere local or further afield. All the more reason for supposing it was a genuine wild duck downed by the weather. Nice to see that you and...

You're right Laurie but I think Mark has just got back into it after a period of absence. Dave has consistently done Sheepwash for a number of years. The bird that brought my attention to Sheepwash was a very confiding Wood Sandpiper showing down to 10yds. I well remember Keith Stone standing in...

The regular "regular" is Dave Waite who does Sheepwash in his dinner time. Finder of the Night Heron. Never involves himself with social media etc. A good birder & a nice bloke. Of course Geoff Williams was THE man to do Sheepwash regularly. Finder of Dusky Warbler, Pom Skua, Spoonbills, Crag...
