    Keith I am pretty sure that the Female Duck is as you thought.- A Female Wood Duck. The white around the nasal I believe is the give away. (Mandarin, Yellow/orange bill with Black nasal). According to my new Britain`s Birds by Rob Hume & co. Hope this is of assistance. Great Photos Richard
