Hi Carl, we had 2 second winter birds in the Draycote roost this evening with a juv and a sub adult bird with strange black spots on the tertials on its left hand side. Would be nice if this bird visits Shawell as it has been distant at Draycote. Also the third winter Glaucous. Regards John

Thanks for clarifying Neil. Seems a bit dodgy still for me to take my 5 year old on that route :eek!: Forgot to mention also an adult Med Gull in the roost that was presumably the same bird at Brandon in the day. Regards John

Hi Neil, I had 2 of the three second winter Iceland Gull's that were in the roost at Lawford Heath tip this afternoon, so they may not be making it to Shawell. Tim Marlow and Mark Baynes also had an adult Iceland and third winter Glaucous. RE new access I presume you go through the gate at the...

Yes I am surprised they have not turned up at Shawell as they have not been seen at Lawford Heath landfill, but the gulls are hard to see on the tip and are in a different field every day. Will have a look there tomorrow and then we will probably get the sunday changeover. Regards John

Cheers Neil, yes as I said in post 177 we get Throckmorton birds so unless its moved north it should turn up near us soon. Regarding parking what is the situation with the waste ground near the factory unit on the Newton Lane/A5 junction? Would they be ok for people to park there? Regards John

2 new Iceland Gull's in the roost at Draycote this evening, a juv and a large second winter bird. We have now had 6 Iceland and 2 Glaucous at Draycote, hopefully more to come but very few doing the roost. Looks like the Worc Kumlien's has moved on so keep em peeled. Regards John

Cheers Neil. Thats whats great about Gull's they are rarely text book birds and probably why most people shun them ;) 4th winter in Olsen mentions sometimes brown wash to wings and a narrow subterminal mark on the bill, and of course birds can retain some youger plumage to the next year. You...

Hi Dave, has anyone got any more shots of the 3w bird? As I text to you yesterday we are getting what we think is a near adult bird at Draycote and seen very well and close at Lawford Heath landfill by Tim. It was again in the roost this evening with a pale juv bird. As an aside look out for the...

Yes Dave a Laughing would be nice and I can't believe there has not been one seen since last September and not a Franklin's since October. A self found Ring-billed would do me for Draycote. Regards John

That looks like the one we had at Draycote in the roost today (though the pager put out juv ) Also adult Iceland juv Glaucous and adult Med Gull. The adult Iceland has not been seen at Lawford Heath or Shawell yet so don't know where that one is going in the day. It can't be that far though as...
