Wild in Aberdeen - City and Shire

I think we saw one about 3 weeks ago, but it was so quick we really didn't get our eyes on it properly. But that was all until today really.

A lovely report that Ian. Dippers, Goosanders and Little Grebes always make my day. Is this where Andrew used to visit occasionally?

Yeah.... I've been hearing Greenfinch all over the place this year..... after years of not seeing/hearing them at all. It started last year when I began to hear the odd one or two round town here.

They particularly like dry stone dykes - plenty of nooks and crannies to explore and also to hide in.

Yeah.... I'm glad you're managing to get about Burnie. Re the video... it's not something I can do for you, as it's your video and has to be uploaded in your name. I can, however, add the details about it once you've uploaded it. It's quite simple to do.... Click on the Gallery tab above...

Gosh!! It was windy, wasn't it Burnie.... I'm surprised you managed to hold the camera so still LOL. A great video that lad - any chance you can add it to the Gallery? I can link it to the Opus article where it will get more views.

What a wonderful experience Andy!! Terrific pictures too, once you settled down and relaxed LOL Yes, Red-spotted. I saw a white-spotted on Fair Isle back in 2002 but really made a mess of the pictures!!

.... and you both beat me to it Rich! LOL Hi Andy and a warm welcome from me too. Water Rails certainly aren't easy to see! I've never heard that call from one, so thanks for the video. The usual call that people recognise is the squeal, like a pig! I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look...

Goodness!!! Any spare flats going there? I've had Sparrowhawk (always juveniles) in the garden here, the only other raptor is regular sightings of high flying Buzzards. I'm in a town flat too LOL I live in hope of Osprey and Red Kite flying over. Maybe.... one day.... a stray White-tailed...
