Well, at least 2 other LROS committee members are BF members but they probably don't keep a BF list. Helenol doesn't seem to be on board nowadays so perhaps you're in danger of becoming a 'Category B' species...

Yer can't count me 'cos you failed to re-identify me second time around! - I had 'scope and nobbly-knees, so I was fairly easy to ID, short of having a name-tag!

Not very practical for a 'Field' Guide - unless you print them all off!

What if they're seen to be fed on the crossing?

You could try the old 'brief sighting of a possible...' routine!

Well if you can change from 'self-appointed policy executive' to 'BF 200 Club List Police' I don't see any problems with selflessly helping a fellow BFer to get a decent list by bending the rules a bit ;) Anyway, since when was 'looking it up in the book' afterwards not allowed to 'confirm' a...

Just missed you, then - I really shouldn't have done the 'dude' thing and had a bite to eat first! Glad you got hold of the spare bins - the swallow would have been a tad difficult without! Anyway, if you want an 'armchair tick' Scampo was the one who was about a foot taller than everyone else!

Immaculate! Just like the field guide (his photo that he used to have as his avatar!) He didn't recognise me - I'd got the same kit as in my mugshot for the Feb competition, including the dog, which should have been a giveaway!

Well, having ticked Steve 'Scampo' at the Swithland Reservoir Red-rumped Swallow twitch, yesterday my list has grown by 20% from 5 to 6! Were then any other BF-ers lurking there unannounced, I wonder?

You can't count Irish sightings on your official UK list any more! They'll have to go into category E9 or something!

My old jalopy is about up for renewal so I might get around a bit more when I get a newer one, otherwise I do most of my birding within a few miles of home nowadays. As there's seldom anything around here worth travelling to see it makes me a bit of a 'blocker' as well!

Some of the photographers will try to get just that bit closer and frighten off the shyer ones before the late-arrivers get there!

Dark deeds on Rarities Committees - surely not!! Of course if Jane confirms my 'tick' of her it means she can also 'tick' me on her list - so there's a whole area open there for corruption on members' lists - it's a good job we're all basically honest (aren't we?)

She did have long red hair and she did look a lot like Jane's recent photo and she did have a lot of 'chat'!

The 'tickee' in question said there was another young redheaded birder in the area at the time - it was over 20 years ago - so it's a 50/50 chance of being Jane. Except... I later recalled that the said young redheaded damsel gave us directions to Red Rocks - which strongly points to it being...

How many 'Steves' can we look out for? Can we lump them together as one 'super-species' or split them up into lots of sub-species - a bit like LWH Gulls!

Just posted my (pathetic) list in the original 'oop north bash' thread EDIT (CJW) here it is: Like my UK bird list, I'm a few short of the 400 mark! : Carl Baggott jthatch555 Richard Fray Lee Evans Jane Turner (possibly) errr...that's about it, as far as I know. Trouble is, as indicated on...
