    Brown Argus Lots of stuff flying at Strumpshaw yesterday, including several smart newly-emerged BAs (in the willow scrub near the Dr's Cottage) and Brimstones. Loads of Gatekeepers suddenly! Also Swallowtail caterpillars in the usual places ;)

    Swallowtails Amazingly, there were still five or six flying at Strumpshaw yesterday: as well as the very tatty individual I managed to photograph, there was a pristine pair flying together along Lackford Run. Also, the first Gatekeeper I've seen at the Fen this year!
