    Whooper Swan dropping in at VP occaisionally (I've dipped it 3 times now - patch tick for me too!!!).... Also, the Bittern is back!!! Saw it yesterday, also a Black-tailed Godwit & Water Rail of note...

    County MEGA today - a juv. PURPLE HERON at Rednal (same place as the White Stork!!) Found by Alan Heath, took us a good 2hrs to locate the bird... it favours the canal path & has been present at least 2 days now!! It showed brilliantly for around 10 minutes on the canal path, a good mile north...

    Managed to finally nail Little Owl last night.... I've got just one 'banker' sp. left, which basically means I'll need 4 decent birds to hit my target.... Black Tern, Pec. Sand, Little Stint & Pink-footed Goose most likely species to turn up.... But there's always the county yearly rarity...

    Yeah, 2nd Wood Sand for Chelmarsh this year, previous one was found by Yvonne Chadwick, this one was found by my mate Dave Western!! Little Egret & Osprey still getting in at VP.... a few Common Tern's were at Mire... I had 5 or 6 Crossbill at Bury Ditches the other day..... Now on 162 species...

    Had 4 Ring Ouzel on Titterstone Clee today (in the quarry), vocal, but typically flighty & elusive!!... Only 1 Wheatear. At VP the 1st LRP has arrived, it was joined later by 2 more!!! As I shot off to Titt. Clee Jim had 2 Swallow & a House Martin thru!!... Not that I'm too worried about...

    Hi Chris - bit early for Ouzel, from memory I've never had one in Shropshire in March?.... VP generally get's just the odd Wheatear, but again it's usually end of March, early April...
