    Had a couple of curlew and a Common Sandpiper fly over the house last night. Nuthatch and Coal Tit back on the feeders.

    Young birds appear to have fledged around us, I have seen 1 of the 3 pairs of bullfinch feeding at least one, greenfinch young totalled around 6 and Long Tailed Tits have also been feeding young today. A male chaffinch seems to be feeding up as if he has young to feed too. Blackcap singing again...

    I have upto 3 pairs of Bullfinch visiting, my greenfinch numbers are down, not as numerous as usual. A jackdaw has found my fatballs now, seen one twice, it's quite funny watching it flap like mad while trying to eat the fatballs. A wren has also been singing really well, which is great news...

    I managed to catch Great spotted on the fat balls the other morning. A very shy bird, but managed a pic, its a bit ropey as it was early morning and to crank the iso to 6400. The same morning I got 5 bullfinches and my nuthatch feeding as well.

    2 great pieces of news from my garden today, I have heard Willow Tit! It has been a long time since one was around, so hopefully it will return. Also a Green Woodpecker, feeding on the fatballs, couldn't believe my eyes :t:

    Great Spotted Woodpecker very briefly yesterday, saw me standing at the patio door and off it went, seems very shy, I didn't even move.

    A female siskin in today around the hawthorns, a very rare visitor to my garden. Also 2 House Sparrow (another rare visitor) on the fatballs. Bullfinch count is up to 2 pairs again.

    Had a new species for my garden the other day in the form of a nuthatch on the peanuts, my daughter and I were playing with bubbles in the garden, I turned around and there it was! compact was in my pocket and managed a record shot, albeit a poor one.

    I had left my feeders empty for a while as they kept filling up with water during the last bad spell of rain we had, filled them back up yesterday and they are being used once again.
