Great photos everyone. I know its not a garden but when parking in a large car park for a supermarket, along the area of the car park are young trees and in one of the trees was a Song Thrush singing its heart out and I stood and listened to it amongst the people who had no time to stand just...

Your garden is not a postage stamp Andrew its a bird paradise. The Yellow Hammer is fantastic and I too saw a Pied Wagtail in the garden bobbing along the paving stones. No Redpolls here I don't think. I love all the photos coming in to this thread.

Saw a female Bullfinch in Nefyn whilst walking for a bus and a Chough landed about 4feet away, he knew I didn't have my camera. No snow for us but the village pond is frozen solid and the wind are bitter. Hope your better Rich and the birds on your feeders are beautiful.

We had 7 Robins in the garden to-day, no snow but bitterly cold winds. Blackbirds in every corner. The birds were really glad of fresh water. I sprinkled some mixed hen corn on the lawn and at one time they were 8 Magpies.

As my Father is in hospital I have not posted anything as I spend most of my day travelling. I did go to the Wrexham area to stay with my sister and I noticed that where she lives on an estate, where people have planted trees with berries I was amazed to see Thrushes in flocks going mad with...

Great photos and stories to-day. I've been very busy with work at home (carer) not much time at the moment except to feed the birds and boy are they going through the seed. Yesterday as I stepped out of the front door this bird flew past me about 3feet from the ground turned to go under the...

I also liked the video Will. Had a Starling visit the table to-day as it landed everything else flew off, nice to be popular. The window feeder is constantly in use.

Nice list BFB, have you a big garden? I hear Chough's flying over in the morning going to the cliffs and sometimes they go on the beach amongst the seaweed, late evening they fly back to the hills to roast in the rocky crags. In the hills behind our house the people who monitor the Chough...

I'm feeding the birds like mad at the moment and the GSW came to-day, I've seen that Woodpecker on a grass bank where it was rooting about . Not much feeding after about 3.30 here only a Blue tit or a Robin. Did see yesterday 6 Blue tits on the table and nut feeders all at the same time...

Swallows, I had a pair of Swallows nesting in a shed and the nest was on a pull switch resting on a tiny piece of wood. To make life a bit more simple last winter and to encourage other pairs I put 6 artificial nests in a large animal shed, spaced them apart and open the top of the door day and...

Any ideas who or what has done this to my feeder, I put it in a local wood just to see what I would get, the first time I went back there was a Great Tit and I wasn't able to go back for a week and it was an old feeder but I say, really its ruined. Woody or squirrel? Little blighter whoever it...

Wow, just seen the Sparrow Hawk, great shot. This evening I was reading an old bird watching magazine and I noticed that someone had ask about not seeing Siskins in the garden and the answer was when its fine weather the cones open and when its raining the cones close and the birds move...

The buffet on the table was a huge success, the top was plastered with the chopped nuts and fat ball squashed and pushed into gaps, the whole table was a mass of food. The Nijer feeder was on the side for the Goldys. First came a Dunnock, then Blue and Great Tits, Greenfinches coming and going...

Lovely photos David, GSW on the bottom of the bird table this morning. Yesterday I put some peanuts into a plastic jar and chopped them up with the electric chopper, then sprinkled the bits all over the table on top, inside and on the base and that's where the woodpecker was eating the nuts...

Thanks CC, I never knew that and its very interesting. I have to give my hens grit and sometimes I see them eating the snail shells the Thrushes leave behind but I have never thought of offering grit to the wild birds.

Hardly any birds at all to-day, just a few Blue Tits, the warm weather sent them else where, where I wonder?

Three Magpies on my lawn to-day, they are extremly large birds the closer they get to you. I've even seen these birds go into the hen shed and eat the eggs, they peck into the shell and eat the yolk and leave the shell.
