With this Big Storm from the Atlantic coming in overnight, it might be worth checking a few local reservoirs for wreck seabirds on Monday and Tuesday?! Cheers, Dave.

Hi Adam, you could try Cossington Meadows LRWT as well, which is just down the road from Mountsorrel. The local birders call this whole area the Soar Valley. It has some decent habitat from Cossington Meadows right down to Birstall Meadows which is on the outskirts of Leicester. Have you checked...

Try Cloud Wood for WL Hairstreaks. I had few last weekend whilst looking for orchids. The best place for them is near the metal gate entrance on the north side of the wood. Also look out for Silver washed Fritillary, as one has been reported in this area! For Purple Hairstreaks try Swithland...

I'm almost 100% certain it was an adult Temminck's Stint in winter plumage but could not rule out Least Sandpiper with the...

The bird was at the inflow end of the Reservoir yesterday afternoon and has been reported in the same area this morning. If you look at a map of the reservoir, the inflow end is the opposite end to the dam. It was with at least five Little Egrets yesterday afternoon! Hope this helps? Cheers, Dave.
