We went to Hoylake yesterday and saw a plover, either Golden or Grey. It was very distant and the wind was making the scope move. Do you get Grey in the area?

We took our first trip to Macclesfield forest yesterday in the hope of seeing the Little Owl. Parked at Standing stones and walked to visitor centre. Still recovering from the walk back. What lovely photos, where abouts did you see them?

Thought we would try Sandbach Flashes. Not sure we were in the right place. Moved on to Newman's Flash and on the path between Aston Flash and Newman's had good views of a LSW. Last time we were on that path we had a Green WP. so a good Woodpecker spot.

You are both probably correct re the GSW, they do say think of the most obvious bird first. Husband just feels that it was much too small but it was such a quick view that it is hard to tell. Will plump for GSW. Many thanks.

We saw 2 male Winchat in the road where the army range is near IMF. They were quite close to the beginning of the walk. We met a chap there who said he had reported the first ones and that they bred there.

Just had great and first time ever views of the Lesser Spotted W.P. at Moore. Had been told that a good time to get a view was about 9 am from the car park. In fact it was near it's fav. tree spot about 10 am. Interestingly there was a photographer who saw it and took a photo at 10 am in another...

Had the most wonderful view of a Short-eared at Burton marsh. It flew towards me and got bigger and bigger in my scope. Question: Are these Owls feeding up before they move on or do they winter here? Many thanks.
