    Mid morning over my East Cheshire Garden: 240+ Pink feet flying high and heading S-SW, 30+ Fieldfare circling the area, 20+ Siskin in the Birch trees next door. Good morning to mow the lawn as I wouldn't have seen these today

    Hi Phil I know what you are saying but I stick by this.........it seems like "I can ring more birds than you". Sure it is important, sure the recovery rate maybe low, but all 600+ chicks ringed....?? over kill and excessive and something I will never be won over by.

    Something I have just seen on the Deeside web pge "Report from Shotton Lagoons SSSI (access by PERMIT ONLY): Common Terns doing well with 593 chicks ringed plus another 20+ yet to be ringed, also highlights for July 16th: 32 (Thirty Two) Common Sandpiper, 3 Green Sandpiper, 6 Cetti's Warbler...

    What a shame. When I saw the bird a week ago the reserve posted a staff member on site so people were put onto the bird at arms length so to speak,I presume this wasn't the case when the bird was flushed. I watched the bird sat comfortably preening and it didn't flinch while trains rattled...

    Went back to Burton for my 4th helping of the BBP - and blimey its getting easier, got out of the car and its right in front of me. Showed well (in very poor light) for an hour before disappearing for an hour, so made use of the trip to catch up with the Little Stint that was also showing very well.

    5 tightly packed skiens of Pink Feet over Poynton this morning heading SE, I would guess 300+ birds In the garden the arrival of the Lssr Redpolls have begun, only 3s and 4s at the mo, but sure to rise to the 40s soon
