    i also looked this morning couldnt see any line on them. its the line and hooks snagged in the water thats the biggest problem. some fishing club own it now i believe.

    testo's/quadrus pond cygnets hatching out,6 days earlier than 2010, mallard ducklings, young coots and young moorhens all being chased by the cob. lots of swallows and swifts along the allotments, in and out of stables.

    west pastures this morning. lots of partridge and pheasant chicks about also afew lapwing chicks. partridge just hatched this morning, hard luck mr magpie you missed these|:D| lots of smaller coppers and a few speckled woods.

    colliery woods bouncing with bird song this morning and also rampaging magpies.... afew fledgling blackbirds on the ground. i think most the frog spawn was wrecked with the pond surface freezing up but was hard to see for lager cans.

    west pastures yesterday. greylag still on the water at scot's house, alone, not sure if it can fly or not as it always seems to be there. wheatears in and near the 'empty' traveller site. lapwings and curlew but didn't see the greenshank that was there afew days ago some single partridge but...

    seemed to be loads of chiffchaff along the don just north of asda 0530/0630 and the cock pheasants ''toot tut'' wrens and robins along the allotment fence along with tits, blackbirds woodpigeon and alot of stock doves breaking out of the taller trees.
