Here are some typical examples from last week. I have better and worse examples but these are typical of what you get at this time of year when you are walking about rather than shooting from a hide. I've been meaning to post these seal pics for a while. It was a first for me in hebburn...

I have an FZ28, got to go to bed now but when I get the chance will put some photo's up. All the photo's I've taken since February this year have been with an FZ28. Some have been abysmal some have been ok, its very dependant on conditions (after it starts getting dull you can't get decent...

I think it all depends on what sort of birding you do. I carry my scope with me a lot so I bought a small 50mm scope, also buying small means for the same money you can get better glass (ED). However if you do a lot of very long distance birding maybe a more powerful scope would be better. but a...

I currently use microsoft picture manager for cropping and can make tweaks to brightness colour and contrast. I have GIMP as well which I am trying to get to grips with, I don't think its as good as photoshop because it's only 8bit (not sure what that means) but I think you can do most of the...

it seems historically humans have been very cruel to birds. its such a shame, because it's a very special experience when you see tame wild birds. I remember walking though a forest in scotland and the crested tit's flew down and were within a metre of me it seemed almost magical. I think we've...
