    Got off the bus at 9.45 this morning at Roker park and I heard a familiar trilling,30 Waxwings in the trees off Sidecliff Road,I took some record shots with my little Kodak and they flew off north................Laurence :)

    Had a stroll down to Westoe Cem feeders this afternoon,got there about 12 ish,lots of activity with Blue and Great tits,Chaffinch,Greenfinch,Spuggies,Goldfinch and three Brambling on the back feeders,two females and one male,I was over the moon because it's been years since I saw these colourful...

    14 pink- footed geese flew over when I was walking from work tonight at 9.53pm,I've seen loads this winter!............Laurence :)

    Very large flock of Pink-Footed geese flew over my head heading south in Lumley Ave,Marsden at 2.27 this afternoon,great sight.They were that low I could hear their wing beats.Another smaller flock flew over at 3.05.........Laurence :)

    Large flock of very noisy geese just flew south over my garden at 10.35am,I was taking video of the snow and managed to capture them flying past! ................Laurence :)

    Found a dead Woodcock in backlane at Fulwell in Sunderland today ,driving past in works van, I saw it lying and went out for a look,didn't look like a cat had caught it !.........Laurence :(

    Superb pic's of my favourite bird,btw saw a flock of about nine or ten Waxwing in Jarrow near Bede' world a couple of days ago while out in works van,great to get a glimpse however fleeting of these magnificent birds!...............Laurence :)

    Had a trip over to WCP again,not so many Goldcrests as yesterday but still a good number.Loads of Robins and Blackbirds,saw Redstarts,flock of Greenfinch and quite a few Blackcaps on the elderberrys.Three skeins of pink feet flew over heading south too...

    Went up tp Whitburn CP this morning,glad I did the place was crawling with migrants,saw Blackcaps,Siskin,Redstarts,Stonechat,Reed Bunting,Chaffinch,Greenfinch,Robins,Loads of Blackbirds,Redwings,and I have never seen so many Goldcrests in one place,watched the lads ringing from the mist...

    Good day out today,went down shields for a parcel and took my bins with me for a walk up the coast,Didn't catch the Shorelark but saw the Black Redstarts and the Wheatears at the Boulder beaches,nice to talk to Dougie and Jan at trow too...

    Had a walk around Old Marsden Quarry this afternoon,Little Owl in usual place and a large flock of Tits flying around the trees in bowl,around 40 mainly Long Tailed with a few Blue and Greats,also a Willow Warbler or Chiff Chaff with them!..............Laurence :)

    Got down to Leas at 11.50 am,saw a group of birders standing just south Trow Quarry near path,saw the Lapland Buntings feeding in the grass,a first for me, thanks Steve for the heads up!.............Laurence :) PS also saw two Whinchats on the mound.

    Yes Derek, that was me with the lads from work I had the Rush T-shirt on,I just wished I could have stayed,we eventually found the river and saw a Dipper so It was a canny accident we found the place,glad to see you again!..............Laurence :)

    We had a visit to Far Pastures yesterday when I was with work,we came across the hide by accident and a few people were looking out for the Kingfishers,a nice lady showed me her pictures she took earlier.Hope to go back and see Kingfishers on my own time................Laurence ;)

    Mark did you see the Dolphins at around 9.30 yesterday morning, because I was on the bus to Roker and out at sea I saw hundreds of gulls in a big raft.I thought there was something up and I was looking for Dolphins but they were too far out for me to see anything....................Laurence :)

    Long walk this morning over to Old Marsden Quarry,lots of Whitethroats singing along with Chaffinch.Little Owl flew passed me in Quarry Bowl getting hassle from a Magpie. Walked down leas hedge saw lots of linnets and a male Reed Bunting singing,walked over the mound and another two Reed Bunting...

    Yes Dougie,had my Frogs in garden pond for a while now,It's full of spawn,hope the frosts don't kill it off like it has been in previous years,Newts also back!.........Laurence :)
