    Carbon tripod advice for 500mm lens

    For my N600 I got a nice tripod from REALLY THE RIGHT STUFF-- USA made down to the last screw. The well known "G" brand was not to be had when I needed something. I topped it off with a Wimberley 2 gimbal head, before they left Winchester, VA and have NEVER been sorry. JMHO :)

    KC- SUPER. Ours have of course left for the winter, but I find them very much a challenge. Only one decent capture all Summer and that had to be with a feeder in view. :( THANKS! for sharing. :):t:

    Sighting Barn Owl Tips

    I believe for the most part they will be found durning the day , high up in those trees. At least around here that seems to be the case. However, nothing is engraved in stone on this. :) A good spoting scope might give you a clue, with a lot of looking. :)

    Seen in passing

    I really need to ask this. The other day I happened to view part of a show where the crew was photographing some exotic birds. Several times I saw them using a 600MM lens such as I have. THey had a bracket that held a 'Better Beemer' such as I have, and, a small spotting scope. Would anyone know...

    A first find of a Juvenile Blue Heron for me. Located around the upper bay of the Prime Hook NWLR in Delaware. Weather was threatening and gray so I am happy with this. :)
