    Dalmatian Coast June 2013

I arrived in Croatia in March and spent 3 weeks around the Zagreb area, birding on and off and mostly in appalling cold and wet weather, still, migration was evident and managed some good species and lifers: Hoopoe, Wryneck, Pied Flycatcher, Collared Flycatcher,(lifer) Nightingale, Garganey...

    Dalmatian Coast June 2013

Vransko Jezero should be a certainty for Pygmy Cormorant and Black Winged Stilt - as for accommodation, there's the closer Biograd na Moru as oppose to Split and Zadar for this lake - the sea is there and there's probably good value accommodation around in the town.

    Lesser spotted woodpecker

The good news is that Moore's Lesser-Spotted Woodpeckers are still present - I saw one two weeks ago, but it was extremely lucky, it wasn't vocal and it was just luck. I guess, from what people are saying here, April seems a better time.

    Pennington Flash

Missed The Leach's, it wasn't a long-stayer. Goodies at the moment there include Little Gull and Greenshank.

    Croatian Birding Trip Summer 2011

Dobardan :) bio sam u Hrvatsku ovog ljeto :t: I initially was based in Zagreb where my gf lives, highlights being Hooded Crow in the hundreds. Next we moved to the coast, where it really got interesting. Three lucky trips to Vransko Lake near Biograd, plus woodlands in Biograd produced...

    Pennington Flash

I decided to leave Pennington for Sale Waterpark - two little grebes, five herons, a robin, and the usual array. It was heaving with the 'shirts-off' contingent, hence little if any other birders.

    New Brit on board

Hello, My name's Jon and I am new to birding, but I am learning a lot and I am off to a famous birdwatching spot in the North West (UK) tomorrow to see what I can see! I was out yesterday and managed a great-crested Grebe on the local park lake, but it was spending a lot of time diving! There...
