    Several probable Purple Hairstreaks nectaring on the oaks to the south of Costessey cemetery on Longwater Lane. I was visiting on family business and didn't have binoculars with me so I can't be 100% certain but I would be interested to know if this is a known site. Thanks.

    Apologies all round for the inaccurate information in post 65. I did a quick check of the site today and contrary to what I remember, the small pit is also fenced. The plants would be visible from here but not in ultra close up.

    Last year there were a reasonable number of plants growing outside of the fence in a small, shallow pit which appeared to have been dug for this purpose. Presumably this is accessible at all times.
