3 birds (Photos!) - Bangkok, Thailand

Hello! on the 4th we saw a few birds that we need some help identifying! These photos were all taken in a city park (Suan Rot Fai) in Bangkok. Bird #1: http://25.media.tumblr.com/0168830966b02bbbd5599e057b0e9c3b/tumblr_mpnu6cOXj91qjdgcoo4_1280.jpg (Some kind of reed/bush warbler, perhaps?)...

    South Korea - May 2-10 2012

It really is a "magic island" as the Birds Korea page says! These islands are major migration stopovers for these passerine species - it was more than worth the trip!

    South Korea - May 2-10 2012

Logistical notes: We currently live on Guam so we took advantage of the direct flights to and from Seoul. We were sightseeing as well as bird watching, and we traveled on our own (backpacking) and made most of our own arrangements. We had a bit of difficulty finding the correct bus terminal...

Some warblers etc. - Eocheong island, South Korea

Hi rockfowl! Thanks for your response - The Yellow-browed warbler might have been something I'd considered for some of these -Can you tell me what suggested it to you? I'm also curious as to why you suggest E. Crowned Warbler for #16? I don't remember seeing any central crown stripes on any of...

Some warblers etc. - Eocheong island, South Korea

There were a LOT of birds and a lot of photos to process from this trip, so I tried to narrow it down to the ones I really needed help with - which is... pretty much all of the warblers. I could swear some of them looked different from others but I am just not familiar with old world warblers...

Hello, I would like to share my artwork with you all here! I only started painting in watercolor during the last couple of years so I am still rather new to the medium. This set is from 2010.

Birds from Gunsan, South Korea (shorebirds galore!)

Hello, I'm putting this in a separate thread just to avoid confusion with the ones from Seoul - I hope this is okay! I can't identify all of these because I am rubbish at shorebirds. These are all from the mudflats below the Barrage Bridge in Gunsan on May 6, 2012. I have a two part image...

Birds from Dongmak Lagoon, Seoul, South Korea

Jacana and Stuart: Thank you for the shorebird suggestions! I was thinking wood or green I just wasn't sure which was which! Still not quite convinced that 2 is a common based on the length of the bill - the flying bird might be the same individual as 4, in fact? I am not really sure about the...

Birds from Dongmak Lagoon, Seoul, South Korea

You all are going to either love or hate me for this, but I need some help identifying a few of the birds we saw on our trip to South Korea! I've included my guesses for the ones I think I know. I tried to leave out most of the ones I was pretty certain about. This first batch are from Dongmak...

Info needed - S. Korea in early May

Thank you for the intel, Mike! I think that Spoonbill site might be just what we are looking for! I did get some further tips from Nial Moores, though we can't afford to hire him as a guide right now. Looks like we might shoot to visit Eocheong island if time allows for it...

Info needed - S. Korea in early May

Hi, my husband and I are planning our next trip and we wanted to visit South Korea. We should have about 9 days to spend there. I have looked at the birdskorea.com site but I would like some more information if possible, particularly with regard to which sites would be good to visit during...

    Lesser Sand Plovers? - GUAM

Hi, I had about 4 of these birds yesterday here on Guam - I believe they are Lesser Sand Plovers but I'd like to double check. Sorry these are not good quality photos - the one time we actually found something new my husband hadn't brought along his good camera! I don't know if anybody will be...
