    House Sparrows and Feeders

I have two feeders that are about 25 yards apart and I put black sunflower seeds in both. In less that 24 hours, the house sparrows have emptied both, not by eating, but by kicking the seed out. Both of these feeders are fairly large, holding about 5lbs of seed. Is there anything I can do to...

    Orioles in Oklahoma

This is my first summer to put out oriole feeders. I have enjoyed them all summer until a couple of days ago. I probably had 15 or more sightings a day. It seems all at once they have quit coming around. Is this typical? Has their diet changed or have they moved out? What has been your...

How can I find a Baltimore Oriole?

    Oriole nectar feeder

    Oriole nectar feeder

    Oriole nectar feeder

Has anyone had success using hummingbird nectar in their oriole nectar feeder? Here's my dilemma...It's about time to clean and replace the nectar in my oriole feeder. The nectar I have been using is an 'oriole nectar' which is orange in color that quickly fades to clear after a few days. The...

    Hello from Oklahoma

I was surfing for info to increase the diversity of my feeding station (in my back yard) and found this forum. After a little lurking, I decided to join. I currently have two "regular" feeders (that has millet, black sunflower (both whole and hearts), safflower), two suet boxes, an oriole nectar...
