    I've been trying to ID this bee from its very prominent antennae using image searches but without luck. This was a very large bee about 2cm long and the massive mandibles also should be a clue but no luck so any help appreciated. Location North Wales this week. Thanks, John

    Hover Kingy !

    Local patch at Venus Pool is a good place to see the Kingfishers this winter. This one flew out from the poolside shrubs and hovered above the pool right in front of me and I was just lucky enough to get a focus lock before he dived.
